Top-Final Wardrobe Item

This is my final item for the mini wardrobe.  It is a knit top made from an oop McCalls 5039.  The original pattern is for a dress, so I just shortened it around the hipline to make it into a top.  The fabric is bamboo jersey.  It’s really nice stuff, soft with a nice drape and it has a slight sheen to it.  This top was super easy and quick to sew.  I am pretty happy with the finished result.

Sewing notes

  • Use fusible stretch tape to finish the hem
  • used a knit stitch for seams
  • topstitch with rayon embroidery thread on the hem

Look for a composite photo later of all four combinations.
